Palenque

Palenque remains best known for the nearby ruins of an ancient Mayan city, which probably flourished around the 7th century CE.
On the 10th (Sun), examine the collection at Museo de Sitio de Palenque "Alberto Ruz Lhuillier", then explore the ancient world of Zona Arqueologica de Palenque, and then admire the sheer force of Welib Ja Waterfalls. Keep things going the next day: stroll through Aluxes, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia Santo Domingo, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Cascadas de Misol-Ha.
