Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
You've now added Museum of Fine Arts, Houston to your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Houston side-trips: Kemah Boardwalk (in Kemah) and The Seawall (in Galveston). And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Space Center Houston, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Houston Zoo, and admire the sheer force of Water Wall.
