Northbrook

Northbrook is an affluent suburb of Chicago, located at the northern edge of Cook County, Illinois, United States. When incorporated in 1901, the village was known as Shermerville in honor of Frederick Schermer, who donated the land for its first train station. Get out of town with these interesting Northbrook side-trips: Kenosha (Civil War Museum, Petrifying Springs Park, &more), Gurnee (Six Flags Great America, Gurnee Mills, &more) and Independence Grove Dog Park (in Libertyville). The adventure continues: go for a walk through Chicago Botanic Garden, revel in the low prices at Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets, view the masterpieces at Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, and admire the striking features of SC Johnson Headquarters.
