— 15 nights

Yellow Rose of Texas

Known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas," Amarillo was once a series of ranches.
Visit Palo Duro Canyon State Park and National Ranching Heritage Center for their historical value. Appreciate the collections at Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum and The Buddy Holly Center. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Amarillo: Tucumcari (Tucumcari Historical Museum, Mesalands Community College's Dinosaur Museum and Natural Sciences Laboratory, &more), Canyon (Old West Stables & Lighthouse Trail) and Lubbock (Prairie Dog Town & Buddy Holly Statue and West Texas Walk of Fame). There's still lots to do: get a taste of life in the country at Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West, cruise along Route 66, see the interesting displays at Russell's Truck and Travel Center, and take a stroll through U.S. Route 66 - Sixth Street Historic District.
