Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll

The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
Venture out of the city with trips to Jackson (Cypress Grove Nature Park & Samuel T Bryant Distillery), Brownsville (Tina Turner Museum @ Flagg Grove School & West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center) and Tunica (Gold Strike Casino, Horseshoe Tunica, &more). There's lots more to do: browse the exhibits of Graceland, examine the collection at Stax Museum of American Soul Music, get to know the fascinating history of Beale Street, and appreciate the history behind National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel.
