Big D

One of the country's most popular shopping destinations, Dallas and its sprawling suburbs include more shopping centers per capita than any other urban center in America.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Dallas: Fort Worth (Fort Worth Water Gardens, Sundance Square, &more), Eagle Gun Range (in Lewisville) and Founder's Plaza Observation Area (in Irving). There's still lots to do: stroll around Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, appreciate the extensive heritage of Grapevine Historic Main Street District, examine the collection at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, and take some stellar pictures from Reunion Tower.

Nashville to Dallas is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Nashville in December, plan for somewhat warmer days in Dallas, with highs around 59°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 41°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly back home.
