In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.You'll find plenty of places to visit near Honolulu: Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea) and Haleiwa (Waimea Bay & Sunset Beach Park). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of USS Arizona Memorial, take in the pleasant sights at Diamond Head State Monument, look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas, and take in the dramatic scenery at Manoa Falls.
