Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Fri): pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo, snap pictures at Ponte di Rialto, then examine the collection at Museo Ebraico di Venezia, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande. On your second day here, admire the masterpieces at Gallerie dell'Accademia, appreciate the history behind Pietre d'Inciampo - Stolpersteine, admire the masterpieces at Peggy Guggenheim Collection, admire the landmark architecture of Basilica di San Marco, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Campo del Ghetto, and finally enjoy breathtaking views from St Mark's Campanile.

Mumbai, India to Venice is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of flight and shuttle. The time zone changes from India Standard Time (IST) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a -4 hour difference. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Mumbai in May: high temperatures in Venice hover around 26°C and lows are around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sun) to allow enough time to take a train to Milan.
