Remember the fallen at Airborne Cemetery, a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery and the final resting place of 1,759 men who died in World War II. This site, established in 1945, mostly holds the graves of Allied servicemen killed during the Battle of Arnhem, in which Allied troops attempted to cross the Rhine in 1944, or during the liberation of the city. Do not be surprised to see new grave markers; bodies are still being discovered in the surrounding area and are laid to rest among their comrades.
