  • We had a great experience at the elephant sanctuary! The elephants seemed very happy and well cared for. Our guides spoke great English and had so much interesting elephant knowledge and fun facts to share. I got the impression that our guides working at the sanctuary truly care about their work and the elephants. Our guides Pong and D were the best! We started the day by feeding the elephants bananas. We changed into blue traditional outfits. A professional photographer took pictures during the day that were available to buy. We walked with the elephants to a field to feed them some more, and then took a mud bath and water bath with the elephants. Touching the elephants was encouraged. It was a very cool experience. At the end, we rinsed off, had a chance to enjoy the “human pool”, and made a DELICIOUS Thai noodle soup. I would highly recommend this sanctuary to others.
  • There are a lot of elephant tourism experiences in the Chiang Mai area and the main thing that separates the good from the bad is that "sanctuary" usually implies emphasis on the well-being of the elephants the business uses. There is no riding here (don't go to a riding camp), we are able to walk around with the elephants, help feed them and then bath them in a mud bath. It's a pretty wonderful experience and the guides here seem passionate about what they do and love engaging positively with both the huge, majestic creatures, but also with you as a guest on the tour.
