Lampang Province

4.2
Rugged Lampang Province centers on a broad valley through which the Wang River flows. The Thai king's white elephants reside here, at Thailand's only government-sponsored elephant conservation center--by far the biggest tourist attraction in Lampan Province. Not that things to do in Lampang are in short supply: the region houses many Buddhist temples, mostly in the Burmese style, some of which contain the oldest remaining wooden buildings in the country. Archeological remains from the Burma, Lanna, and Hariphunchai kingdoms dot the area, and the mountainous landscape holds many natural attractions, including dense forests and waterfalls. Take the guesswork out of planning a Thailand vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.
