Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias
Many visitors come to the city expressly for Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, an eye-catching cultural and architectural site that’s home to a science museum, opera house, planetarium, IMAX movie theater, and open-air oceanographic park, the largest such aquarium in Europe. Built in the 1990s at the end of the former riverbed of the Turia River, the futuristic complex was designed by renowned architects Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela. The principal building, housing the science museum, is filled with hundreds of hands-on exhibits. Attendants can help you find your way around, or leave you alone to enjoy the displays at your own pace. Once you’ve had your fill of exhibits and jostling crowds, enjoy a stroll through the site’s gardens, featuring hundreds of plant species indigenous to this area. Visitors curious to learn the stories behind all the buildings in this giant complex are encouraged to book a guided walking tour. Put Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias and other Valencia attractions into our Valencia trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

Really cool looking architecture. Easily of the best highlights in Valencia. Enjoyed just walking around the area.

I provide the review for the complex only.. as we did not have time to go inside the premises. To be honest, the architectural designs are extremely amazing. I cannot describe how it really impressed me. You can see from the pictures and video. The best is to experience the complex in the afternoon and enjoying the sunset to take pictures. We love the water entertainment too. Definitely in love with this place in addition to the paellas 🥳

Amazing place. Even if you don't visit any of the buildings there, its still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the amazing architecture. You can take a boat ride, grab a quick drink or sandwich at the small food stand. There is a small park there where you can sit on the grass and admire the view. I visited l'oceanográfico, it was nice. The kids would enjoy it the most, I think. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and taking your time at each room.
