Part of a World Heritage Site, Tsarskoye Selo State Museum Preserve previously served as home to the Russian imperial family and visiting royalty. Built in the 1600s, the palace originally belonged to Swedish nobility until Peter the Great gave it to his wife, Catherine I, in 1708.
