Trip Planner: Europe / Norway / Eastern Norway / Oslo / Munch
Delve into the life and times of one of Norway's most famous artists at Munch, which houses the world's largest collection of Edvard Munch's works--a total of 28,000 pieces. Get a glimpse of the artist's personal life and inner spirit by visiting the belongings, tools, and sketches that formed the basis for some of his works. Join a guided tour of the museum (offered in English), to learn more about specific pieces of art, Munch's psyche, and the context of the Expressionist movement as a whole. Beautiful Museum. I love building , many have different view but the view from above is nice. You require to have tickets purchased or Oslo pass can include this. There are different floors with different themes. The main attraction is the scream and it's worth it. There is a floor for children games and activities so you can leave children there and enjoy other floors. The sky bar was closed when I visited but the view from above is really nice. It might take 1-2 hours to see full but if you just go for scream then it will be less. If you have Oslo pass then must visit place.
Amazing collection of art to see and a fabulous building with commanding views over the bay. The staff were warm and friendly, as is everyone in Oslo, and keen to assist. Admission was not too expensive. Well worth a visit.
