Swim and snorkel in the crisp cold waters of Gran Cenote, a flooded cavern with a jetty, affording easy access to a wonderful subterranean pool. Scuba diving excursions are available, but you’ll be able to see a lot from the surface with your goggles, including strange rock formations and terrapins heading to the surface. The beautiful surroundings make a great place to have a picnic before returning to the pool. Keep your eyes peeled for the iguanas and peacocks that roam the surrounding area. Gran Cenote reviews
Beautiful but touristic cenote, located just 10 minutes by car from Tulum, also many people cycle from town. Must be like 8 kms from the Tulum mainstreet. This cenote is kinf of half cave and half... more »

There is a reason to be famous. It's amazingly beautiful. Even though it's a little bit crowded, you can enjoy the beauty of the cenote. There is a nice space to chill right next to the cenote which is inside the facility so you could bring your lunch and do picnic as well. I also liked that they are careful about keeping the cenote clean. So don't put any sunscreen. There are some lockers 30 pesos, life jacket 80 pesos and snorkeling gears 80pesos to rent.
Really nice place, lots of space to jump in the water, swim, watch the turtles, enjoy the rock formations. Easily reachable by bike from the town of Tulum (5km away). Good facilities on site, restroom, changing room, shower. Sadly, the staff isn't that friendly, and will rush you to get out of the place as soon as the closing time is approaching.
