Most visitors come to Khajuraho to see the 1,000-year-old erotic rock carvings at a cluster of World Heritage-listed Hindu and Jain temples. Divided into three groups of temples, these fine stone structures lie at the foot of the Vindhya Mountains and rank among India's most popular tourist attractions. Audio guided tours of Khajuraho involve explanations of some carvings in English, as well as historical and architectural background. While most sightseeing in Khajuraho revolves around some two dozen surviving temples, you can also observe village life or take a yoga class and visit a local archeological museum.
