Create an itinerary including City Palace of Jaipur
Smack dab in the middle of the old town core, City Palace of Jaipur plays home to a royal residence and blends a fusion of architectural styles. Explore the expansive palace complex, built with distinctive pink sandstone and white accents, to see its intricate network of verandas, courtyards, meeting halls, and other rooms. You'll see elements of classic Indian, Mughal, European, and local Rajput construction techniques throughout, a result of the many additions to the palace since its origins in the late 1720s. Don't miss popping into the art gallery inside the public audience hall, as it features an array of centuries-old scriptures and other works of art from the region. Alternatively, visit the armory for a look at one of the nation's finest collections of historic weaponry. • It is a beautiful place to visit during day. Very photogenic place. A link of royal lineage, feel the royalty genre. Remember to take a guide as it will be worth to take one otherwise you would come out without knowing the history and importance of this palace. There is a market inside the palace where local handcrafted items are displayed, prices are on higher side but if you want to support local craftsmanship then please buy from them as the money you spend here will directly help these awesome local creative people, most of them has received recognition from PM and government of India.
  • Beautiful place to visit if you are in or around Jaipur. Brilliant show of ancient and traditional designs and blend of colours. I would recommend to go in without a guide as there is not much history to explain. Even a small intro video would be more than enough for it. Entry fee for Indians is around 200, and use student card if possible for half rates. It's a photogenic place but overcrowded.
