Discover the rich and varied wildlife of Bannerghatta National Park on a bus or jeep safari. The reserve, established as a national park in 1974, offers the chance to see some of the region's plants, and the animals that inhabit the dense forest. Visit the small zoo and butterfly park, see the elephants roam free in their fenced part of the park, or embark on a safari into the herbivore and carnivore zones of the forest. Exploring the forest, you might encounter deer, monkeys, bears, white and Bengal tigers, or even lions. • Located just 40km from bangalore, a perfect place to spend your day with family specially with kids. Best part is the jungle safari, which has multiple options such as a/c bus which includes ticket for safari, butterfly Park and zoo, another is non a/c bus which is the most suitable option as weather is pleasant most of the times and it includes tickets for zoo and safari, and the last one is jeep safari which is best if you are in a group. You will be able to see almost all the animals found in India like tiger, lion, bear, deer, elephant etc.
  • This national park gave me a feel of going to the Jurassic Park with compartmentalized zones for various animals and second gate opens only after the first one closes. You get to see animals in their pseudo-natural habitat, which I have realised that most visitors (including myself) appreciate over a zoo setting. Now, onto the operational aspects, because of the pleasant weather, you can take an A/C or a non A/C Bus Safari (jeeps are also available). It's a 45-min ride and once you are done with the Bus Safari, you can visit the Zoo and the Butterfly Park. Depending on your pace, both would take ~2 hour and ~1 hour respectively.
