  • The zoo is centrally located in Frankfurt and can be easily reached (U-Bahn / S-Bahn - stop: Ostendstraße). The design of the Zoo is okay. It also has a lot of animals and the zoo is well...  more »
  • The zoo was easy to access via public transportation. It was very quiet and the animals were out to enjoy. Our only challenge was the lack of English-speaking staff (our problem). Most of the food....  more »

  • Well worth a visit. €24.00 for 2adults, a good price I feel for the upkeep of so many species of animals from around the world. The care for the animals is very evident in the condition and environment of each species. There's lots of info about the animals as long as you speak German! The name of each species is in English and German but the information isn't unfortunately. There are several eateries around the site, not cheap as you can imagine. Come prepared for the weather, a plastic poncho is€10 and an umbrella €20.00. one of the underground stations is at the opposite end to the entrance, which is very handy when the weather turns for the worst. The bat house was amazing, you feel as though you're in amongst them, obviously very dark in there but there is glass between you and them. The bird house was also amazing also glass between you and them apart from the Asian bird house but they're difficult to spot in the trees. Go and enjoy it. I would highly recommend it.
  • It's a bit run down in places and quite a lot of animals are missing. I can see they are doing work in some areas but it was disappointing that my daughter was excited to see something and then it wasn't there. We did spend 4 hours taking our time and only saw 70% before we had to leave and the animals we did see were good, there is a lot more species than in some other larger zoo's and the nocturnal building was interesting and I didn't see that in other zoo's.
