Feldberg, the highest mountain in the Black Forest, soars to 1,493 m (4,898 ft). Take the chairlift from the valley up to Seebuck peak. From here, the peak of Feldberg is a 2 km (1.2 mi) walk. Once you reach the peak, you will be rewarded with one of the most extensive panoramas of Germany. An annotated map up top helps you identify what you see, including the Vosges Mountains, Palatinate Forest, Swabian Alb, Jura Mountains, and the Alps. In the winter, you can visit several ski slopes; in the summer, try out the many walking paths. Sample some Black Forest cuisine in one the nearby restaurants.   • We got a hochschwarzwalder cart from our hotel and with this you can take the cable car for free to the top of the Feldberg. At the end of the cable car it is a 15 minute walk to the real top of the.....  more »
