  • The most notable thing about this attraction is that it is accessible - there is a lift from the ground level to the spring at a lower level. Glad to have seen this, but not a must go to attraction.  more »
  • To see the start of the mighty Danube as just a few bubbles! It was a quiet sunny autumn afternoon when we visited, hardly a soul around, lovely fall tree next to the well and in the park nearby...  more »
  • The source of the Donaubach, which flows into the Danube is often referred to as the source of the Danube (Donauquelle). This is using some poetic license, considering the number of headwaters which gradually merge to form the Danube. This is also a great place to start your cycling tour of the fabulous region.
  • Easy to find from the train station. Take the elevator to get your bike down ! Peaceful place. It’s the source of the Danube, there is something to it :) Then, make sure to follow the signs. Trust the Donauradweg signs, it’s VERY well done.
