#146 of 2,919 in Things to do in Paris
Lined with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, fishmongers, cheese shops, wine shops, produce stands, and boutiques, Rue Montorgueil is a historic street with an authentic feel. Impressionist painter Claude Monet depicted the street in his 1878 painting by the same name. The northern end is known as the Grand Boulevard, and the southern end has an enormous shopping center and open-air market. While the area offers modern conveniences, it has resolved to preserve its rich heritage of historical buildings and little village-style nooks. A visit to Rue Montorgueil represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Paris trip planning tool to plot your vacation.
