Parc Montsouris, Paris

#14 of 142 in Parks in Paris
One of the most colorful Parisian parks, Parc Montsouris was opened in 1878, designed by Alphand for the Baron Haussmann. Long stretches of gently sloping lawns surround a large man-made lake and waterfalls. You'll see bronze statues among the 1,400 trees, which include exotic giant sequoias and ginkgos. The park is featured in the film Cléo de 5 à 7, and is popular with families (there are two playground areas for children) and students. • This park was designed by Haussmann's staff during the transformation of Paris mid-19th Century. Today it is more than mature, full of all sorts of pleasures, plus some of the neighborhoods around...  more »
  • It´s a charming park, full of green, with a preety lake. There is also a elegant restaurant where you can dring a beer or a wine while watching the delicate leaves falling.  more »

  • Nice park with plenty of good spots for a picnic. Beautiful landscaping and nice ponds. The playgrounds are fairly nice but could use an update. My kids like the car tracks made out of concrete which are fun.
  • Large, spacious, clean, with restaurants and bars not far, full of people who run, exercise, participate in some group classes, plenty of space to enjoy, have a picnic, relax in the shadow or do some sport. And it's really, really huge! Especially during the nice days it's a place to enjoy.
