L' Atelier Brancusi, Paris

#69 of 180 in Museums in Paris
Hidden away in a narrow street, L' Atelier Brancusi provides a glimpse into the working space of one of Europe's greatest Modernist sculptors. Born in Romania in 1876, Constantin Brancusi spent most of his life in France, where he created some of his best-known pieces. The recreated studio, designed by architect Renzo Piano, contains about 130 original sculptures, 80 pedestals, 40 drawings, and over 1,000 photographs and photographic glass plates. Bracusi spent his final years regrouping and photographing some of his most evocative sculptures, intent on achieving what he considered an ideal arrangement. Unlike conventional gallery and museum exhibits, the studio allows visitors to see the artist's pieces in the context of his personal working space. • A true inspiration! The studio is very aquarate reproduced. You can see the tools and the art pieces in different stages of work.
  • Small buy worth a quick pass. Unless you are really into sculptures.
