Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Covered from floor to ceiling with mosaics, La Maison Picassiette is a house decorated with glass, stone, and ceramic all by one man named Raymond Isidore. Not only are the walls, floors, exterior, and ceilings covered in mosaics--the beds, furniture, and stove are, too. You can even walk on several floors and walkways covered with mosaics made from broken pieces of marble. Peruse the garden walls for more mosaic motifs at the home called "Picassiette," meaning "Picasso of the Plate." • Very unusual attraction on the edge of town, walkable by following along the river and then using the road signs. A variety of single storey buildings covered in glass/ pottery shards and walled country cottage gardens. Best to go early and avoid public holidays as it's long and narrow, small buildings and would easily get crowded. Very helpful/ informative curator/ ticket manager.
  • Lovely place to visit for fans of naive art. Nothing is really around so be sure to bring some food and drink if you plan a break there.
