Create an itinerary including Mirador de Turi
To get an unbeatable view of the city, visit Mirador de Turi, a hill just outside the city. Take a cab or the double-decker tour bus that runs here to reach the lookout point (mirador means "lookout" in Spanish). Or, if you’d like a more challenging ascent, take the long staircase to the top, beginning at the nearby mall. At the top, take some time to appreciate the views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The white church, the Church of Turi, is also a great sight from inside and out. The hill is close to a pottery studio, as well as Cuenca’s main shopping mall, so squeeze in some retail therapy after your visit. A visit to Mirador de Turi represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Cuenca online vacation planner to plot your vacation.

  • Beautiful view point over the city of Cuenca with plenty of restaurants and bars readily accessible to make your visit more enjoyable. Accessible by transit buses (2 buses at .70¢ pp or taxis 3$).

  • At this moment this place is under reconstruction but still you can view Cuenca in all its magnificence, you can shop handcrafts here and lunch in very nice places. You can access to this place in two deck buses from the Park of Cuenca, nice trip.
  • I'd say 2.5 stars. Not much to see except for the city lights. It is not bad but it is not something that as a tourist you MUST do. There are a few restaurants and street vendors too. We googled the restaurants found nearby and they had mixed reviews. In any case, taxis are around $3-4 from the city center. And as a reminder you must find a taxi to bring you back.
