Mission Dolores Park, San Francisco

#12 of 70 in Parks in San Francisco
A Leave No Trace park, encompassing nearly 16 acres, Mission Dolores Park is one of San Francisco’s most popular destinations, the vibrant heart of its equally vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood. Here you’ll find lush green lawns shaded by tall palm trees, a soccer field, six tennis courts, one basketball court, a multi-use court, a playground, and two off-leash dog play areas. Yes. Many festivals, performances, and other cultural events are held here, and on sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs, and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline and beyond.

  • Dolores Park has a wonderful view of the SF city skyline, and on a good clear day, it's hard to beat. The downfall of this park is the people that it attracts. You are surrounded by sketchy homeless p...  more »
  • This is very, you can relax, ask you a time you want in the grass, attention however to put on the way of automatic watering. Amount at the top of the because there are views of the city that we could not see because of the mist. En_bas_de Park free and clean public toilets ' is not always easy to find in San Francisco)

  • This is a staple in my friends and I hang out spots. We love to come here in the day and just relax, spend time together and laugh and have some fun - People watching is also good here at all times.  more »

  • Very nice family friendly park in San Francisco. Lots of things to occupy your family with; huge playground, dogs allowed, lots of seating, BBQ, people watch and more. Spent a few hours here hanging out with friends and family. The kids loved the playground. There’s plenty of grass and sand to play on and slides and swings. Definitely can celebrate a birthday here on a nice sunny day.
  • Great atmosphere! Vibes are cool and really good for people watching... Especially hot guys sun bathing. Watch out for panhandlers. Family friendly city park with lots of relaxation.
  • I'm sure this park has so many reviews it couldn't possibly benefit from another one. Really enjoyed sitting here and just people watching. Relaxing at this park was a highlight on my SF visit. If you're just visiting the city, make sure you stop on by to get a feel for the neighborhood.
  • Beautiful and family friendly park- nothing too crazy going on here but there are also plenty of people peddling their wares and young adults enjoying beer, wine, and sometimes marijuana (though not overtly). I went there for a nice relaxing afternoon and a can of rose from the bi-mart nearby. It was a perfect afternoon
  • I have spent hours here people watching. It's a great viewpoint of the city and also a very well kept park, everyone really looks after the place. Bring some beers and a picnic and make a day of it. If you forget beers no issue because there are so many people selling anything you could need it's such a great atmosphere.
