Plimoth Plantation, Plymouth

4.2
Interact with an authentic environment and historical interpreters of Pilgrims at Plimoth Plantation, a living museum based and located on the first Plymouth colony. English Colonists originally established the settlement in the 17th century, and now the same grounds host this multifaceted museum. Witness everyday life in the 1627 English Village section of the museum, where the "townspeople" dress, speak, and behave like 17th-century Pilgrims. You also can explore a replica of the Mayflower II, watch a film at the museum's cinema, see craftsmen at work, and learn about Native American history in the region at the Wampanoag Homesite. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Plymouth holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Plimoth Plantation and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Quite large with a complete village of houses built and furnished as the first settlers would have known. The people in costume only speak about life in the 17th century.  more »
  • This place is so amazing. The kids loved the authentic outfits and the period houses. Made you feel as if you were there for that first Thanksgiving. A must see with the little ones.  more »
  • Only 42 miles from Boston and Plymouth is definitely the place to be around Thanksgiving. The plantation has several areas Wampanoag Village, and A Settlers Village, Craft Center, theatre, lectures, f...  more »

  • Loved visiting Plimoth Plantation! All of the actors are in character and you can ask them anything! Very true interactive living history museum! What an incredible way to learn about our history and see how people lived back then. Super authentic and very accurate representation. Worth every penny. We didn't arrive in time, so we only got to see half of the plantation. I will definitely be back!
  • Never been, I just got bored in my English class and decided to write a review. There is a lot of cool history around this place ( were reading about it in class) so if your in the area i would recommend going to see it. The Plantation appears to be a great stop for the whole family. Looks a lot more interesting then here. Sincerely, Vibes from my English class.
  • Such an amazing place. It’s like you stepped out of a time machine! The staff and historians who run Plimoth Plantation are do dedicated to preserving where we started as a civilization! They have preserved our history so well. This is a must for everyone to visit, experience and see how we as a country started on this soil. How we lived, without running water, electricity, basic amenities is one thing. To really understand how we survived the first winter and why the Mayflower landed here is another! Go visit this incredible gem! It’s perfect for all ages, all levels of history buffs and anyone who is curious what it was like in 1620!!!
  • Well thought out experience to depict early settlers life. Especially good having true Native Americans as part of the program. I enjoyed the interaction with the English settler reenactors who speak as if they are in 1620, not current day. All folks took the time to answer questions and explain things. The visit is good for under 4 hours, not an all day trip.
  • Very cute place. I would recommend this for kids 6 and up. You HAVE to try their stone baked focaccia bread with their house made lemonade. Brownie points if you can score a table under their pergola outside. Heaven! 💖 Also, I recommend purchasing the full pass which allows you to visit all three exhibits. The grist mill is a must, especially on a day when they are grinding corn. Also, if you have older kids (reading age), I recommend the third exhibit that is on the water.
