Housing the world's largest collection of glass sculptures by artist Dale Chihuly, Oklahoma City Museum of Art brings art to life in the city's renowned downtown arts district. Although it covers a period of nearly 500 years, the museum's collection is especially strong in European and American art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Spread across three floors, the permanent exhibit space displays works by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Georgia O'Keefe, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Charles Wilson Peale, and Gustave Courbet. The museum also houses a theater that screens international, independent, and classic films. Finish your visit with a meal at the museum's full-service restaurant, which offers a menu inspired by French cuisine. Oklahoma City Museum of Art Reviews
I came specifically for the Chihuly exhibit. I've seen Chihuly glass before but knowing what to expect never prepares you for how incredible it is. This museum does an incredible job of displaying it.... more »
A great exhibit of Chihuly glass sculptures. The rest of the museum was mediocre at best. Portraits are not really our thing. more »
A must see!! They are currently remodeling or something so there aren't a lot of exhibits, but what they have there now is still awesome. It's also great for kids!! We take our 2 year old to " Tiny Tuesday's" to paint and do art projects. They play music and really help the kids get creative. We love it!!
We had an hour to kill while downtown, so we decided to pop in for a little bit. You can definitely finish this place in less than an hour, which is what we did. The Chihuly glass was my favorite. Would definitely visit again next time I’m in town.
