Museum at Eldridge Street Reviews
We had a wonderful experience at the museum. The docent was knowledgeable and made history come alive during the tour. The synagogue is a beautiful structure and well worth a stop. Coupled with a visi... more »
La verdad es que fui solamente por lo bonito de las fotos. Y si, es preciosa la sinagoga... Pero el museo como tal es enano. Nos preguntaron si queríamos esperar a que partiera el tour guiado que dura... more »The truth is, I was just because of the beautiful pictures. And yes, the synagogue is beautiful... But the museum as such is a dany. We were asked if we wanted to wait for the guided tour that lasted a little over an hour and because of the size we found it excessive. If you walk in time to spare, do not miss the opportunity to go to see the architectural beauty but if you walk in the right time, I would dedicate the same to do other things, it is not a must in any case.
A transcendent experience. Totally amazing, one can almost go back in time here and feel the past. Hear the prayers, and listen to conversations a hundred years old. If you came from somewhere else come here, you will feel at home no matter what or who you worship. Highly recommended!
Beautiful historic place situated in China town. Built in 1887 Synagogue is old and famous and still popular. Very carefully maintained inside and outside. It's very difficult to have it cleaned due to number of tourists visiting the place. Lots of historical documents and artifacts pertaining to active immigrant arrival to NYC. On Mondays you pay what you wish to enter.
