Only when you realise that you are standing in the foundations of the Twin Towers does it really hit home. One of the best exhibitions I have ever been to. Such beauty in such tragic circumstances. more »
Incredibly sombre and moving the Memorial tells the story of the tragic event of 9/11. I admired how it approached what is a very difficult subject respectfully. It tells the tale at both a political level, architectural level and also has dozens of personal stories of the day. The scale of the memorial is stunning and with staff present that were there on the day you get to connect with one of the most shocking and influential events of our time on quite a deep level. The memorial does have a gift shop which at first concerned me but thankfully all items are respectful and largely in tribute to the emergency responders of the day.
Awesome memorial! We came down here just after touring One World Trade. It was an overcast day but that made for better views. We were there at 11:30 AM and the crowds weren’t all that bad. I would go a little earlier of I could do it again. Such an incredible memorial and it’s amazing to see how much care was put into memorializing where the twin towers used to stand. I have not been to the site since shortly after 9/11 and it’s unbelievable to see the area now. So glad we came!
