  • I would have spent more time here if I was able. Most people will come here for a quick stopover on one of the viewpoints facing the Golden Gate bridge, but there's much more here if you're willing to put in the time. Many of the viewpoints are historically significant, as they were the site of old weapon emplacements guarding the harbor. The whole area is beautiful and offers wonderful views of the surrounding area, not only the bridge. Finally, there's lots in terms of hiking if you're the active sort. If you're planning a trip to San Francisco, I would make a point of really exploring this area.
  • Great place for a day hike, picnic or just to hang out. You can even take your bikes on the ferry then enjoy a day cruising the more secluded spots. But remember don't chase the geese. And even if Warner said you could feed the deer... She lies!
