Sesquicentennial State Park Reviews
We are new to the area and thought why not check it out! I was shocked at the $5.00 per person, especially after seeing how small the park is! The walking trails are beautiful, the history of the park... more »
We are local and we spend the day at Sesqui at least once a month, sometimes more. - The Nature trail is a great little family-friendly hike. There are lots of little bridges with tiny creeks that the... more »
The park is a really nice with great trails, awesome splash pad for the kids, big picnic area and great shelters. They have paddle board, canoe, boat & kayak rentals at reasonable rates. There is a park store with various items to purchase. The staff and rangers are very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and park was very clean. However, the campground needs updating and maintenance. The trees need to be trimmed of their dead limbs or just cut down because they are leaning or in the way when backing in or parking on a site, the water and electrical systems need updating, many of the campsites need to be leveled or re-worked completely and the bathrooms need the showers updated with new tile, shower heads and privacy curtains in addition to the shower curtain. The park lake needs to be cleared of the excessive bottom growth and Lilly pads. The lake is not fishing friendly. I would have given the park more stars, but I am a camper, and the campground did not pass muster. I will camp here again now that I have picked out the good sites and deal with the problems. This park could be a hidden gem in the middle of Columbia if the campground was completely renovated.
Perfect for a day trip with my toddler daughters! Decent sized fenced in splash pad area with very clean bathrooms. Cute gift shop! Beautiful lake with paddle boats & kayaks. We actually saw a deer family playing across the lake (: Playgrounds. Not to mention all the tall beautiful trees. Would LOVE to try the nature trails next time! Beautiful day in nature forsure!
