  • We spend almost 4 hours of fun here. entrance cost %5 per adult, kids up to 5 are free. Plenty of parking. Be sure to bring plenty of water as there aren’t too many water fountains to refill your bott...  more »
  • We needed some calm waters to try out our new kayak. This little lake was perfect! We had a great time and help was accessible at all times. We followed it up with a refreshing trip to the splash pad....  more »
  • Chose this place b/c close to the city so we could attend a seminar this week. As other reviews it’s about the same with dirt/gravel roads and uneven sites for many. Splash pad was a deciding factor b...  more »

  • The park is a really nice with great trails, awesome splash pad for the kids, big picnic area and great shelters. They have paddle board, canoe, boat & kayak rentals at reasonable rates. There is a park store with various items to purchase. The staff and rangers are very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and park was very clean. However, the campground needs updating and maintenance. The trees need to be trimmed of their dead limbs or just cut down because they are leaning or in the way when backing in or parking on a site, the water and electrical systems need updating, many of the campsites need to be leveled or re-worked completely and the bathrooms need the showers updated with new tile, shower heads and privacy curtains in addition to the shower curtain. The park lake needs to be cleared of the excessive bottom growth and Lilly pads. The lake is not fishing friendly. I would have given the park more stars, but I am a camper, and the campground did not pass muster. I will camp here again now that I have picked out the good sites and deal with the problems. This park could be a hidden gem in the middle of Columbia if the campground was completely renovated.
  • Perfect for a day trip with my toddler daughters! Decent sized fenced in splash pad area with very clean bathrooms. Cute gift shop! Beautiful lake with paddle boats & kayaks. We actually saw a deer family playing across the lake (: Playgrounds. Not to mention all the tall beautiful trees. Would LOVE to try the nature trails next time! Beautiful day in nature forsure!
  • A very clean park! At first we weren't sure it would be big because of what it looked like on the map, but we were pleasantly surprised! There's ample pavillion space some clean bathrooms! There's are a lot of trails (paved and unpaved) to explore and 2 different playgrounds for kids to enjoy. There's also a big field good for football or soccer. And during the summer the splash pad is a hit! There's also some canoes and paddle boats to use on the lake (I don't recommend swimming in the lake). The staff were nice and makes sure trash is properly disposed of. Overall an AWESOME family place to go to!!
  • We have visited state parks all over the USA and this is one of the nicest by far. Camping spots offer plenty of room. Store on site to purchase needs. Park rangers and staff were very friendly. Beautiful area. One morning I took a short walk and saw 6 deer! The bathrooms are fairly clean. The playground and splash pad give kids something to do besides typical outdoor camping activities. If l lived close I would go often. A great place to go to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
  • Probably the nicest state park in the Columbia area. Big with plenty of hiking trails. Between that and the lake, there's plenty to do for an all day trip. Playgrounds for the kids. And plans to upgrade the area where the creek flows out from the lake look promising. The only downside here is the high cost of admission ($5 per adult and $3 per child). May be worth buying a SC State Park Annual Pass if you come often enough.
