Mall of America, Bloomington

4.3
Mall of America attracts over 40 million shoppers each year, the most of any mall in the world. The largest indoor shopping complex in the country, the mall houses an indoor theme park, aquarium, wedding chapel, and a miniature golf course in addition to the usual stores, movie theaters, and restaurants. Many visitors follow the shopping experience with a ride on one of the mall's 24 roller coasters, but you can also explore the aquarium's family-friendly exhibits. The mall is a ten-minute car ride from the airport, though you can easily reach it by the light rail network from almost anywhere else in the greater Minneapolis area. Our Bloomington trip planner makes visiting Mall of America and other Bloomington attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • I have been to many Hard Rock Cafes and eaten, for the most part, good to very good meals. This was the 1 bad apple. Had it been my first dining experience at a Hard Rock, it might be my last. I went ...  more »
  • Was in the MSP area with a free afternoon and figured I needed to visit here once while I had the chance. As you already know - it's a mall and it's big. To me, it seemed to have mostly the same store...  more »

  • Being the largest indoor mall in the US, I can find almost any name brand products here. Things like Rolex watches, Chanel bags or other high end ones and regular department store items are under one roof. Many of special and popular items you find here are marked up easily 10-15%, when you compare to the price on online. Sales are rare and limited to many off season items. The parking and traffic around the mall can be quite challenging. However, the variety of choices are the attraction for many folks often come on special tour buses from nearby states and stay in the hotels. Noticed the mall is popular for foreign tourists to bring back gifts for family members and friends. Overall the mall provides goods and services for all ages. The future expansion plan looks impressive.
  • Ah, the Mall of America. It's a spectacle and tourist attraction, but I love it! I've stayed at two different hotels across the street from The Mall (The Country Inn & Suites and the Hometown Suites, both of which have access to a pedestrian walkway so you don't have to cross the busy street), and I'd definitely recommend it. Being able to just walk over after a day of sightseeing and exploring Minneapolis/St. Paul is really nice. Need to grab something to eat? Pick from the plethora of restaurants. Ride a couple of rides in the amusement park. Spend some time in the large Lego store. Or one of the hundreds of other stores. There's so much to do in one place! (Oh, and miniature golf. And an aquarium!)
  • The Mall of America is probably one of the most interesting and unique shopping experiences that you will ever have. It was built when I was about 10 which was a long time ago now and I spent much of my youth there, so it might not be quite as exciting for me as some of the other people that have never been there. But it is a lot of fun to go and spend the day there and go to Camp Snoopy and go on rides and watch movies on the theater and they have just about everything you could ever want to eat or buy at some store or the other. I did just do something for the first time that I hadn't done before, which was take my son to underwater world and that was a lot of fun, so there's always something new and exciting
  • I LOVE this Mall!!!! this place has everything. My husband and I plans to stay at the hotel at the mall next time we visit MN and have our whole weekend designated to the mall. There are many restaurants and activities to do in this place. There is a comedy club there that I want to try. We did the Escape room challenge and it was one of the best escape rooms that I ever done. I recommend going to this place in your life
  • Wow... this shrine to American consumerism is impressive but exhausting! There's an enormous selection of stores and restaurants, plus an amusement park in the center. The restaurants definitely go beyond your standard "food court" stuff, with a number of sit-down places available. Although the place is huge, there are a good number of interactive directory signs that help you find what you are looking for (though one of the screens we tried to use was not functioning). You could easily spend an entire day here with the family and spend an obscene amount of money.
