As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Mission San Jose and National Museum of the Pacific War are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Popular historic sites such as The Alamo and The Guenther House Museum are in your itinerary. Change things up with these side-trips from San Antonio: Fredericksburg (Grape Creek Vineyards on Main & Grape Creek Vineyards). Next up on the itinerary: appreciate the extensive heritage of La Villita Historic Arts Village, pause for some serene contemplation at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral, get a taste of the local shopping with The San Antonio River Walk, and find something for the whole family at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

To find other places to visit, maps, traveler tips, and tourist information, go to the San Antonio visit app .

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Visit Texas State Capitol and The Driskill for their historical value. Attractions like Bullock Texas State History Museum and Barton Springs Pool make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Austin: Hye (Calais Winery & Garrison Brothers Distillery), Hahne Estates Winery (in Johnson City) and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (in Schulenburg). And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of 6th Street, view the masterpieces at Wild About Music, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sitagu Buddha Vihara, and get your game on at The Escape Game Austin.
