Tempe, also known as Hayden's Ferry during the territorial times of Arizona, is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, with the Census Bureau reporting a 2010 population of 161,719. Get out of town with these interesting Tempe side-trips: Fountain Park (in Fountain Hills), Scottsdale (Taliesin West, Pinnacle Peak Park, & more) and Dolly Steamboat (in Tortilla Flat). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Old Town Scottsdale, find something for the whole family at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, admire the engineering at Arizona State University, and look for all kinds of wild species at McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
