Explore Kyoto's surroundings by going to Osaka (Universal Studios Japan & Osaka Castle). And it doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Tofuku-ji Temple, step into the grandiose world of Nijo-jo Castle, and take in the pleasant sights at Arashiyama.

The castle around which the city of Himeji has developed represents one of the best preserved in the country, and has been designated as a national treasure and a World Heritage Site.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Shoshazan Engyoji, take in nature's colorful creations at Kokoen Garden, then step into the grandiose world of Himeji Castle, and finally don't miss a visit to Otemae Street.

Take a train from Kyoto to Himeji in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive. In April, daily temperatures in Himeji can reach 63°F, while at night they dip to 54°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sun) to allow enough time to take a train to Hiroshima.
