A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major airports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. You can fly from Paris to Nice in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Paris in December, things will get a bit warmer in Nice: highs are around 17°C and lows about 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Thu) early enough to drive to Saint-Tropez.

Saint-Tropez is a town, 100km west of Nice, in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southeastern France. Explore Saint-Tropez's surroundings by going to Presqu'ile de Giens (in Giens) and Vieille Ville (in Hyeres). There's lots more to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Les Gorges du Verdon, kick back and relax at Plage de Pampelonne, head outdoors with Cap Taillat, and stroll through Plage de l'Escalet.

Drive from Nice to Saint-Tropez in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or do a combination of train and ferry. Traveling from Nice in December, plan for a bit cooler nights in Saint-Tropez, with lows around 2°C. On the 16th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
