Edinburgh is known for historic sites, museums, nightlife, nature, and childrens museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: step into the grandiose world of Edinburgh Castle, take in the dramatic natural features at Arthur's Seat, browse the exhibits of Camera Obscura and World of Illusions, and make a trip to The Royal Mile.

Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Start off your visit on the 25th (Tue): stroll through Devil's Staircase, hike along Lost Valley Trail, and then pause for some photo ops at Seated Sculpture. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 26th (Wed): pause for some photo ops at The Glencoe Massacre Monument, take in the dramatic scenery at The Meeting of the Three Waters, then have fun at Ice Factor, and finally pause for some photo ops at Peace Memorial.

Start off your visit on the 27th (Thu): stop by The Carnegie Whisky Cellars, trot along with Hollingwells Equestrian, and then get your game on at Wildwoodz. On the next day, hike along Ullapool Hill, then identify plant and animal life at Inverpolly Nature Reserve, then trek along Lael Forest Walks, and finally browse the eclectic array of goods at Ullapool Market.

Drive from Fort William to Inverness in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In February, plan for daily highs up to 44°F, and evening lows to 31°F. You'll have a few hours on the 29th (Sat) to wrap things up before traveling home.
