Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, Doi Suthep

Known for its stunning landscape, Doi Suthep-Pui National Park also houses a winter residence for royalty and a sacred Buddhist temple. Take a hike through these lush trails and try to identify wide ranges of wildlife and plants in this protected evergreen forest, including the crocodile salamander, parrots, and tall oaks. The highlight, however, remains the towering waterfall where you can swim in the bottom pool. Consider camping overnight for amazing stargazing. • He's pretty enchanted to be in the middle of the mountain. The best, the view point Bad things: - the girls who are at the entrance who ask you for money in exchange for a photo (we found it super sad). - people leave flowers at the altars, which they have previously bought at a booth. Two minutes later the woman from the same stand picks them up and sells them again (we saw him several times). To go to it the easiest thing is to take one of the red buses that are at the northern gate of Chiang Mai city. It took us 120 thb round trip (the driver drops you off at the entrance and waits 2 hours, which are more than enough). Prepare the biodramine if you are dizzy (the stretch has many curves and the buses go very fast), another way to go is by motorcycle but you have to have the international card because if not, fine of 500 thb (then they let you use it 3 days if you pay the ticket).

  • It takes about 30 minutes to experience the Grand Canyon before entering the national park. Entrance fees and life jackets are required. This is a small-in-the-nation experience space created in imitation of the Grand Canyon of the United States. The room was clean and comfortable. It's a bit dangerous because of the sharp curves and altitude of the park, so be careful.

  • Beautiful site. Just go there, you will enjoy the scene.
  • Nothing special to be honest. Just hoardes of tourists everywhere. If you stop along a few view points on the way up it's better. Also go to the pui viewpoint for the best view from this DOI. No tourists go only a few locals. Excellent place to sit and watch sunset. Say hello to the sad dog from me also!
