Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): admire the striking features of Doges' Palace, admire the striking features of Basilica di San Marco, then contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande, and finally snap pictures at Ponte di Rialto. Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at Squero di San Trovaso, explore the world behind art at Peggy Guggenheim Collection, then admire the striking features of St Mark's Campanile, then steep yourself in history at Ponte dei Sospiri, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of St. Mark's Square.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
On the 20th (Mon), appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza della Signoria, explore the world behind art at Pitti Palace, then make a trip to Piazzale Michelangelo, and finally snap pictures at Ponte Vecchio. On the 21st (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at Galleria dell'Accademia, pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, get engrossed in the history at Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, then examine the collection at Uffizi Gallery, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Loggia dei Lanzi.
