Volcano

Those who named Volcano opted for simplicity in choosing a title, taking the nearby fire-spewing Kilauea as a source of inspiration.
Get in touch with nature at Pu'u Loa Petroglyphs and Kilauea Iki Trail. You'll get in some beach time at Richardson Beach Park and Laupahoehoe Beach Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Volcano: Pahoa (Maku'u Farmer's Market & Lava Tree State Park) and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (Kalapana & Holei Sea Arch). And it doesn't end there: learn about winemaking at Volcano Winery, view the masterpieces at Volcano Art Center, admire the natural beauty at Akatsuka Orchid Gardens, and cruise along Devastation Trail.

Explore Kailua-Kona's surroundings by going to Captain Cook (Big Island Bees & Kona Pacific Farmers Cooperative) and Honaunau (Honaunau Bay & Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park). And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Kahaluu Beach, glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, appreciate the history behind The Captain Cook Monument, and soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers.
