Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Get a sense of the local culture at Peggy Guggenheim Collection and St. Mark's Square. You'll explore and learn at Doges' Palace and Gallerie dell'Accademia. Next up on the itinerary: admire the landmark architecture of Basilica di San Marco, steep yourself in history at Ponte dei Sospiri, contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande, and take in the views from Ponte di Rialto.
