In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
On the 21st (Sun), don't miss a visit to Piazza del Duomo, then admire the striking features of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, and finally examine the collection at Tour delle Merlate - Castello Sforzesco. On the 22nd (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of Como (Duomo), steep yourself in history at Il Cenacolo, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio.

Rome to Milan is an approximately 3-hour train ride. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or drive. May in Milan sees daily highs of 74°F and lows of 55°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) so you can go by car to Pisa.

Known worldwide for the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the city of Pisa historically served as a maritime power in the heart of Tuscany.
On the 23rd (Tue), admire the landmark architecture of Duomo Pisa, contemplate the long history of Battistero, then admire the striking features of Torre di Pisa, then make a trip to Piazza Anfiteatro, and finally admire the landmark architecture of St Martin Cathedral. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 24th (Wed): take in panoramic vistas at Guinigi Tower, then contemplate the long history of Le mura di Lucca, and then don't miss a visit to Piazza dei Miracoli.

Getting from Milan to Pisa by car takes about 3 hours. Other options: take a train; or fly. In May, daytime highs in Pisa are 71°F, while nighttime lows are 52°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Thu) early enough to catch the train to Florence.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
On the 25th (Thu), see the interesting displays at Galleria dell'Accademia, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, then get engrossed in the history at Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, and finally see the interesting displays at Uffizi Gallery. Keep things going the next day: admire the masterpieces at Pitti Palace, take some stellar pictures from Piazzale Michelangelo, then take in the views from Ponte Vecchio, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Campanile di Giotto.

You can take a train from Pisa to Florence in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or drive. In May in Florence, expect temperatures between 75°F during the day and 53°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Rome.
