Trip Planner: South Pacific / New Zealand / South Island / Otago Region / Queenstown / The Remarkables Ski Area
Shred some powder and take in the alpine scenery of The Remarkables Ski Area. This snow sport resort boasts a versatile terrain along with a wide range of facilities to appeal to experts and first-timers alike. An early learning center, designed for kids from three months to 15 years, helps young visitors build up their skills and confidence. After a long day on the slopes, refuel at the onsite restaurant, cafe, coffee bar, or, for an extraordinary experience, the mountaintop ice bar. With superb views and ample outdoor seating, including comfy beanbags, it comes as no surprise that this is one of the resort's most popular après-ski spots. Gear up at the snow-sport store, rental spot, and repair service, all contained in the resort. A very long winding road up the mountain with many hairliqne and steep side drops. The wife wasn't too happy but on the way there were many viewpoints to stop at. The tarmac road ended 9km before the ski resort that is On the other side of the mountain so we turned back as I didn't want to cause any damage to the hire car. Well worth the trip to see Queenstown from the other side.
