A series of seven waterfalls, each pouring into the next fall below, Tamarin Falls reward a challenging trek with abundant natural beauty. It's best to hire a guide to lead you to the falls; the hike can be quite difficult, with near vertical climbs, and a guide will know the best and safest way to get you there. Likewise, he or she can tell you about what you're seeing and the landscape you're exploring. The trek to the falls leads through forest and lush vegetation, around ponds, and across wide-open expanses. The diversity of this area and the exotic plant and animal life make the trip particularly special. Adventurers can walk right alongside the falls, and even jump from the top of a small fall into the pool below. Make sure to wear proper shoes for hiking. We had a guide and thanks to him, we discovered some beautiful passages (the guide is strongly recommended because the route is not signposted. We paid our 800RS guide - about € 20 for 2). The waterfalls are gorgeous and some dizzying (55 meters). We bathed, small fish came to tickle our feet you have a good physical condition because to get to the cascades, the paths are peaks and quite dangerous. Products and mandatory hiking boots repellent. Thanks to our guide allowed us to discover this place.
We booked the guided hiking tour with prakash isram through the Tamarind falls. He picked us up at our hotel in the morning and then we met his lovely family. His wife cooked a typical and homemade lu... more »
We did a canyoning activity in the falls, and they're just stunning. You have a great view from the top, and can swim in the spring. It was really fun! Just bring some mosquito repellent. more »

Nice place for hiking & nature lovers. Good to spend a full day here!
Loved the hike. Amazing views, great swimming in super cold water :)) Nice for selfies too lol. It was a quite stressful at the beginning because here and also on other websites you read how you need a guide and without him you'll get lost blabla, my girlfriend got insecure about everything and on top of that when you arrive, these guides just rush at you and telling you you need them and without them you get lost and injured etc.. But seriously, anyone with basic orientation sense and average IQ can enjoy this place on his/her own. You park near the bridge where little temple is and continue your walk along the cane field. After 50 meters you have first chance to turn left into the woods and shortly you see first waterfall, that is kinda hidden in the bushes. You turn around, get back to the cane field and continue another 100 meters till you find another route the goes left and that's where your true trail starts. You go down to second waterfall (first that is kinda exposed), you cross it and go around and under it actually and just continue to others. Basically when you're walking in bush, just keep in mind the river and try to stay next to it. You can't get lost. One tip though - when you're done hiking and want to go back, there are several routes on the right side of the river that goes all the way up - up up and up. You end up again in sugar cane field and can walk nicely to the car, no need to go around all waterfalls and hike in the bush again.
There are 2 ways to view this watefall. One is to trek down to it which is atleast 3 hours trek of moderate difficulty. If you use Google Maps to navigate to this then it will take you to this path. The second option is to look at the waterfall from a view point far off. We checked this out and it was not worth the distance we travelled. Even if you don't visit this place it won't be a big loss to your Mauritius experience.
Really amazing seven waterfalls! Needs little bit effort To get there because you need To walk And do some hiking In the jungle To get To These ;) visited platforms 1,3 And 5 And all were quit amazing! Bring your bikinis because you can also swim here. With guide easier To see everything but you can also do it by yourself by following the little road And everytime theres a path leaving from the road, it will lead you To one of the waterfalls. Not the easiest hike because lots of paths going down can be really slippery And need some acrobat work. Must see place!
