Visit the center of an international humanitarian and educational movement at The Art of Living. Founded in 1981, the nongovernmental organization runs entirely through voluntary work, and promotes the philosophy of peace of its founder, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The impressive grounds include lecture halls, meditation rooms, eateries, pleasant gardens, and a wellness spa. Get a traditional massage, attend a short course or introductory lecture, or volunteer at the center for a day, working in the kitchen to prepare international and local cuisine. "The Art of Living" is located on Kanakapura Main road in a very calm and beautiful environment. Away from the city's pollution and rush to reach somewhere. It is just 5-6 Km from Nice road (Kanakapura toll gate). Within a year you'll also be able to travel to the ashram by metro as the metro project is in full swing and pillars have already come up in the close vicinity of the ashram. So reaching from any part of this city will be easier and less tiring as you don't have to sit through traffic jams.(At the time of this review). You can visit art of living websites to understand the various programs which are provided by the ashram. The campus is big and beautiful with lush green cover all around it. You can also find couple of lakes within the ashram boundaries. Also near the parking area the ashram is also growing crops such as spring onions, coriander, mint, sunflower, coconut trees etc to name a few. Living in a city environment it's very hard to find anyone growing these crops which we use in our everyday lives. Feels great to see how these crops are grown. Do have a look if you have the time . The ashram is beautiful from the inside and feels great to be in that silence . You can experience how wonderful silence feels to your mind body and your soul. A place I call my second home. A place with divine grace of guruji. A place which takes all myths related to meditation out of your mind. If you are visiting for first time, you will just see beautiful well maintained campus and happy faces. But dont stop there, come again and experience meditation courses. For me, this has been life changing and I hope if you are reading this, you will try at least happiness course here.
