Access is only possible from the Petit Trianon, after a 1 km walk. The buildings have mostly been renovated externally, but impossible to enter! Only small food point for children: Angelina at the Petit Trianon at double the prices of shops in town!

I had already visited the marie Antoinette estate as well as the hamlet on a free visit, it is a walk that I love, a haven of peace in the heart of the city! The curiosity to visit the interior of the hamlet made me do the guided tour. Half of the visit takes place in the outer parts of the hamlet that have free access. The person who showed us was very rude. And spend 30 minutes in a room talking about chair feet or vases in a monotonous tone...!!! Horrible, after 1h15 with only two rooms visited, we stopped the visit, no desire to go all the way!!!
An incredible place! It is like at Disneyland : everything is beautiful but fake. It will certainly remind you of the great movie by Sophia Coppola : Marie-Antoinette. Some scenes were shot here indeed.
Very interesting to see how quaint the village of unique houses were put together, the animals (sheep, hens, rabbits, goats and pigs) in little pens and the created lake with fish and ducks. It's quaint and cute but strange to think how Marie Antoinette had orchestrated it. It is a shame there were not any plaques summarising the history and a shame that none of the buildings are open to the public but still worth finding in the vast gardens.
