Tour Saint-Jacques, a World Heritage Site, is all that remains of the 16th-century Church of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Boucherie, the meeting place in Paris for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compestela. Take a guided tour of the Flamboyant Gothic tower, where you can climb the 300 stairs to the top for great views of Paris and some interesting historical information. At the base, notice the statue of Blaise Pascal, a 17th-century scientist and philosopher rumored to have conducted experiments on atmospheric pressure from the top of this tower. • To have a 360-degree view of Paris after climbing 300 steps in several stages. Only the flamboyant Gothic bell tower remains, the stones of the Middle Ages having been used to rebuild other monuments. Nicolas FLAMEL is the originator of the financing of this work to which it was added arcades In the 19th century, Theodore BALLU was the architect behind its renovation in the 19th century. Statue of Blaise PASCAL by Jules CAVELIER under the Tower. Last renovation between 2003 and 2013. Group limited to 17 people per hour because of the narrowness of the stairs, which is very nice to listen to the guide. To do absolely.

  • It is 52 m in the high tower which is just a walk from The City Hall of Paris to the Louvre on The Rivoli Street. It was in a small park. There is an image of Pascal because it is said that Pascal experimented with atmospheric pressure. The tower is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a starting point for the Santiago de Compostela Pilgrimage Route. There seems to be a tour which goes up to this tower, too, but it is regrettable that it is not able to go up yet because it is up to five people at a time.

  • It is such a wonderful surprise to find this tower in the middle of the city, surrounded by a small park and silent - just a memory of a church that used to be there, a reminder of how the French Revolution changed the city forever
  • Not very much know, interesting locate in the heart of Psris
