  • Near the Small Palace (Petit Palais) closer to the bridge of Alexander III is a landmark monument to the Prime Minister of Great Britain Sir Winston Churchill. This is the work of the French sculptor Jean Cardo (Jean Cardot). The Figure of the minister is shown in the movement, which gives the product a special appeal. One More work of the master can be seen nearby, at Grand Palais. There is a monument to General Charles de Gaulle.

  • I really liked it. Next to the Seine near the bridge of Alexander the Third. At the Small Palace in the park. You stand at the pedestal almost flush with the great and, in my opinion, the most cynical politician of great Britain. There is no equal value in Anglo-Saxon politics on both sides of the ocean in Order to not speak there. The monument Itself is very interesting. The Three-Meter figure does not seem bulky at all. Vice versa. The Politician's landed, he's part of the landscape. Deliberately sloppy, unglazed solution of sculpture makes the figure natural, real. As well as a natural statue De Gaulle in two hundred meters nearby. The statue Itself was paid by donations from the French public. The sculpture was Created by Jean Cardo in 1988. By the Way, he is the author of the Figure de Gaulle. They were created by the author almost simultaneously on one photo.

  • The statue of Winston Churchill was inaugurated by the French President Jacques Chirac in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II on the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. The statue runs interesting mixed emotions, some in France recognize his efforts in the liberation of Europe whereas some see Churchill's order to scuttle the French fleet to ensure it didnt fall in to the hands of the Nazi's as an unforgivable act because of the cost to the lives of French sailors. Of course without that act sailors may have died anyway as the act protected the UK and brought America into the war on the side of the allies. As always, if you found this review useful please remember to like it. If people like the review (whether you agree or not), it encourages me to write more ;)
  • This particular bronze statue of Winston Churchill was sculpted by Jean Cardot in 1988 and was modelled on a photo that had been taken as he was walking down the Avenue des Champs Elysees on the victory march with the French World War 2 leader General Charles de Gaulle.
